Mother. Daughter. A collaborative peace aims to find ways to measure the space between mother and daughter - the distance from being one to being individuals in a newly defined adult context. Together, my mother and I will work collaboratively to find ways in which art can contextualize and document the emotional and physical space between us. Using audio recordings, photography, video, and writing to generate material, we will find ways to share each others truth.
The piece consists of a collection of solo and collaborative writings, drawings, voice recordings, photographs, live performance (and video documentation of the live performance).
Duration of the project: January 2008 to May 2008 Duration of the live performance piece: 12 minutes
