Sleeping in Dessert
A solo performative response during the Goat Island Summer School, 2008.
The piece is inspired by another Goat Island collaborative performance that included a piece of text, "Sleeping in dessert" and a pink fake flower held up on a concrete floor by gold nuggets

A play on the word "tense" – past/present/future & physical contraction – I recite a story aloud from a tutorial text book in French about a man missing dessert at his own birthday party due to physical exhaustion while I quickly unpack two vintage pink suitcases stuffed full of gaudy pink clothing and gold costume jewelry in order to sleep in "dessert."
