Le Cadeau
Le Cadeau is a collaborative performance inspired by the woman as depicted in the life and art of Modigliani. Through a series of solo vignettes, each woman ritualizes the practice of one of his women.

My solo vignette is inspired by a photograph of Modigliani, an image of his mistress, and his painting a dark-haired woman in black with a bob haircut. In the 1 and a half minute rotation, I switch between two changes of clothing: the mistress muse & the artist. A record is flipped on a stand-alone record player between changes as I recite words spoken on a listen and repeat BBC French language album.
